I have worked with photographs as a subeditor and production editor on magazines and books for the past 35 years, and for the last 15 years I’ve made my own product images for my website selling midcentury Danish lamps. At the same time my (now ex) partner’s work at the Archive of Modern Conflict since the 1990s introduced me to different genres of photography within the Archive’s collection and at the photo-related events we attended together. Enrolling on the OCA degree course in January 2018 has, however, brought me into more direct and conscious engagement with photography than ever before, and the first module EYV has given me a new perspective. I am now about to get going on CAN, which will undoubtedly be another steep learning curve with a new set of challenges.
